Some air found within the utility room, also known as Combustion Appliance Zone (CAZ) room, may behave very differently after installing insulation or air sealing a home. Especially when direct air movement is changed between this room and the outside. Sealing the furnace flue or installing insulation on a large section of the house can significantly change this measurement.
Carbon monoxide testing
Spillage and draft testing
(furnace and hot water heater) are recommended for after installation of insulation or air sealing methods.
Homes may change air flow dynamics with insulation and air sealing methods.
Combustion Appliance Zone tests are included in every Home Performance Energy Audit (Assessment).
